Galanta Cultural Center is cultural and educational institution that has been under the jurisdiction of the Self-Governing Trnava Region since 1 April 2002 and is located in the building of the House of Matica Slovenská in Galanta. It is a legal entity that, in accordance with the Law on educational activities, based on people´s interests and creative abilities, contributes to the development of their personalities and to the formation of a cultural way of life, thereby increasing the cultural and educational level of citizens in the Galanta region.
The subject of activity of the Galanta Cultural Center is to organize creative activities in individual sections of cultural and educational activity, to provide consulting services to implementers of educational activities, to mediate information and knowledge from culture, science and technology. To deepen the relationship with own state and cultural identity of the nation, to develop the culture of national minorities and ethnic groups, to educate through art and to art, in particular by developing artistic activities of interest (ZUČ), to organize regional, national and international competitions, festivals and tours of ZUČ ensembles and educational events. Search, protect, preserve and make available folk traditions with an emphasis on traditional and folk culture, creatively develop and use them. To direct the activities in the area of environmental education and training, to help prevent anti-social phenomena, drug addiction and crime. To enable people to fill their free time with cultural activities, to carry out mediating, publishing promotional and advertising activities in the scope and in accordance with the mission of the educational institution, to participate in fulfilling the tasks of developing the cultural and social life of the region and, in accordance with its mission, to cooperate with cultural and social organizations, local and regional institutions.
